Summary       The Greater Houston Pocket Billiards League, Inc., known as the GHPBL, is an 8-ball league open to both men and women, consisting of 3 player teams and substitutes. Play is at sponsoring establishments in the Montrose area on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 8:00 pm. There are 2 seasons annually, Summer and Winter, each followed by an end of the season tournament and an awards banquet. There are also various tournaments throughout each season and various other events. The Board of Directors consists of 5 offices: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant at Arms. Elections for officers are held annually. The GHPBL follows the rules and regulations of the Billiard Congress of America (BCA).             History       The GHPBL was founded in 1982. It is the original and oldest 8-ball league in Montrose.
